The Southwest Public Policy Institute Announces New Democrat Board Member & Arizona Expansion

The Southwest Public Policy Institute, a nonprofit nonpartisan think tank focusing on the real issues impacting families and businesses in the American Southwest, is pleased to announce that James Hallinan of Phoenix, Arizona has joined the organization’s board of directors.

Phoenix, AZ (August 18, 2022) — This morning, Southwest Public Policy Institute (SPPI) announced its expansion into the state of Arizona. The leading public policy think tank in the American Southwest highlights its nonpartisan approach to the region’s unique challenges and opportunities by including prominent Democrat, consultant, and Arizona small business owner, James Hallinan, to its board of directors. James will be taking the lead on Arizona policy, outreach, and operations.

The New Mexico native spent two decades working with Republicans and Democrats around the United States, and has strong relationships on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. His extensive experience includes work on complex issues such as water rights, natural resources, energy, criminal justice, and international trade. The 39-year-old is a self-described “Traditional Hispanic Southwest Democrat” committed to sound policy solutions that help all of our children, families, and small businesses thrive.

More about James Hallinan

James has managed and worked for successful political campaigns across the country for two decades and now owns two businesses representing government agencies, elected officials, law enforcement, law firms, businesses, nonprofits, members of the media, and professional athletes and coaches. He is an active member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) Hispanic Outreach program traveling to Israel, Palestine, Washington D.C., and cities across North America addressing economic and diplomatic issues from the Middle East to the U.S.- Mexico border, and is a member of the #OneBorder organization.  James has a BA in Economics from the University of New Mexico, has studied abroad in Europe and China, and resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
