Gregory A. Schroeder is the Executive Vice President of the Southwest Public Policy Institute, where he works on credit access and financial inclusion.
Mr. Schroeder has experience in residential and commercial construction lending, including work at Wells Fargo and Los Alamos National Bank, where he gained experience in underwriting, credit, and risk. He later worked in mortgage processing and quality control before spending four years building and operating an Amazon FBA e-commerce business.
That combination, first evaluating credit and lending risk and later running a business subject to those same rules, shapes his work at SPPI. His research focuses on lending, banking regulation, and access to capital, emphasizing the real-world effects of financial policy on borrowers, lenders, and businesses.
Mr. Schroeder holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from New Mexico State University.
He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his longtime partner, Karla. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, reading, working out, and traveling throughout the United States, with a particular interest in history, culture, and the character of the places he visits.
