Albuquerque Public Schools Considers Adopting Parental Bill Of Rights

A parental bill of rights is necessary to preserve the relationship between parents and their children.

Albuquerque Public Schools staff have conducted gender support plan meetings with students without parental notification. Teachers and staff have been instructed to comply with supporting the child’s new gender. Parents are not being included in these conversations.

The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education is considering the adoption of a new policy, Parent Rights and Responsibilities, which would establish the rights of parents to be informed about their children’s interactions at school.

Dear Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education,

I am writing to urge you to support the adoption of policy KB1, Parent Rights and Responsibilities. Parents have the highest responsibility for their children’s upbringing, and parents have the right to know what is happening with their children while in the custody of Albuquerque Public Schools. Please vote YES on policy KB1 so that parents can be informed and work in partnership with the schools for the benefits of their children.

Thank you.
