Competitiveness Coalition Announces Southwest Public Policy Institute as Newest Member

Washington, DC – Today the Competitiveness Coalition announced the addition of Southwest Public Policy Institute as its newest member, bringing the total of organizations and individuals to 23. The addition arrives amid the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) continued losing streak, a litany of congressional probes and lawmakers’ return to Washington. The growing ranks of the Coalition reflects a groundswell of opposition to the FTC’s extreme anti-business agenda.

Representing the eight states of the American Southwest, the Southwest Public Policy Institute (SPPI) formulates, promotes, and defends sound public policy solutions grounded in the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, and traditional American values. SPPI’s mission is simple: to deliver better living through better policy.

“We are excited to welcome Southwest Public Policy Institute to the Coalition,” said Scott Brown, Chair of the Competitiveness Coalition. “Patrick’s expertise advocating for government accountability and transparency will bring a valuable perspective to the growing chorus of opposition to the misguided actions by FTC Chair Lina Khan and the Biden Administration.”

“Southwest Public Policy Institute is thrilled to join the illustrious group of organizations advocating to preserve America’s competitiveness,” said Southwest Public Policy Institute President Patrick M. Brenner. “We look forward to working with the coalition and its members to promote job-creating policies that will strengthen the economy for hardworking families and businesses in the American Southwest and beyond.”

In 2022, the Competitiveness Coalition launched with 15 groups, including small business, consumer, and taxpayer advocates, to highlight misguided attempts to overregulate and harm America’s job-creating tech sector. Its membership has now grown to 23 with the Institute officially joining the coalition this week.
