Rio Rancho, NM — The Southwest Public Policy Institute (SPPI) has launched its own Bureau to Protect Financial Consumers from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (BPFCCFPB). The BPFCCFPB seeks to provide financial consumers with an avenue to report malfeasance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), such as their recent data breach which exposed users to malicious use of their personal information. This reporting mechanism will be through the now live and active website, www.BPFCCFPB.org.

The CFPB has no mechanism for reporting on itself and will not accept reports directed at itself through its consumer portal.

The CFPB is ostensibly in place to protect American consumers from predatory banks and lenders who seek to take advantage of consumers, but has itself endangered consumers through its lack of accountability and transparency, and through flippant obfuscation.

“We are excited to launch this consumer protection bureau to protect consumers from the federal government,” said SPPI President Patrick Brenner. “If the federal government cannot protect consumers from themselves, we will step in. Earlier this year, their staff exploited consumers by stealing their personal information. This bureau, conceived by Elizabeth Warren, is about as transparent and successful as her 2016 presidential campaign.”

“Our bureau stands ready to offer a private sector solution to the government’s bloated and ineffective bureaucracy incapable of doing its basic job.”
