ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The Southwest Public Policy Institute (SPPI) was recently highlighted in Tangle, a widely respected, nonpartisan political newsletter known for its balanced coverage of key policy debates. The feature referenced SPPI President Patrick M. Brenner’s Fox News op-ed, in which he called for dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), arguing that the agency’s overreach has harmed consumers and stifled competition.
Tangle’s coverage explored perspectives from both sides of the political spectrum on the ongoing efforts to scale back the CFPB. The newsletter acknowledged the growing conservative push to eliminate the agency and included SPPI’s perspective as a leading voice advocating for financial freedom and market-driven solutions.
“This recognition in Tangle underscores SPPI’s influence in shaping the national conversation on financial regulation,” said Patrick M. Brenner, President of SPPI. “Our research highlights the unintended consequences of heavy-handed financial oversight, and we remain committed to advocating for policies that expand access to financial services and empower consumers.”
As the debate over the CFPB’s future continues, SPPI will remain at the forefront, providing analysis, research, and policy recommendations that promote economic opportunity and limit government overreach.
